John Gregson argues for pedestrianising Formosa Street, highlighting that previous attempts were dismissed due to noise and delivery concerns despite community support for a car-free environment.
"It's a circular road and to get from one to the other would take seconds so it won't restrict traffic at all," Gregson believes pedestrianisation won't worsen traffic as it already creates jams.
Gregson envisions a pedestrian street fostering community interaction and benefiting local businesses, stating, "It would create an asset for the community to meet and chat."
Despite some business objections, Gregson insists that alternatives for deliveries exist, suggesting that the two concerned establishments could use 'barrow boxes' for their needs.
