Perdue Foods is recalling over 167,000 pounds of frozen chicken nuggets and tenders after customers reported finding metal wire embedded in specific products.
The recalled products include Perdue Breaded Chicken Tenders, Butcher Box Organic Chicken Breast Nuggets and Perdue Simply Smart Organics Breaded Chicken Breast Nuggets.
Jeff Shaw, Perdue's senior vice president of food safety, stated that the material found was a "very thin strand of metal wire" due to contamination in manufacturing.
FSIS and Perdue have confirmed no injuries or adverse reactions tied to the products, but consumers are urged to check freezers for the recalled items.
