The National LGBTQ Task Force's Winter Party Festival is set to return to Miami Beach from February 26 to March 4, celebrating its 32nd anniversary. This year’s theme, "Dance is Revolution," reflects the event’s mission to fuse music and advocacy, celebrating joy and self-expression while raising funds for LGBTQ+ organizations. Co-chair Jason Hellinger highlights dance's role as a means of resistance and community, while Kierra Johnson emphasizes the festival's importance amidst rising anti-LGBTQ hostility in Florida. With over 10,000 attendees expected, the festival continues to be a significant part of queer culture and activism.
Dance has been more than just a movement. It has been a form of resistance, liberation, and social change. Our community has long used dance as a way to break down barriers, challenge norms, and create spaces where we can truly be ourselves.
This week-long symphony of music and movement is part of what unites us to celebrate, connect, and honor the joy that fuels our strength. Winter Party Festival remains a thriving cornerstone of queer culture as one of the last remaining community-owned circuit parties.
