PREMIUM'SMASH' dancer makes Brooklyn home, and loves neighborhood parks
Briefly

Daniel Gaymon, an aspiring dancer, moved to Williamsburg in May 2024 to audition for Broadway's 'SMASH'. After rigorous auditions, he landed an ensemble role that represented a breakthrough in his career. Gaymon's dance journey began at age nine, supported by influential teachers and diverse training styles. With a full scholarship at the University of South Carolina, he honed his craft further, eventually performing with prestigious companies. His earlier work in the US tour of 'Hamilton' ultimately paved the way for his current Broadway success.
The initial audition was really, really rigorous... I was perplexed. I was like, this is the hardest thing I've ever done in my life.
She tried to teach us to be as diverse as possible - jazz, ballet, hip hop, tap... it for sure worked.
I don't think I would have the facility or body awareness I have now without the training I received there.
It was really cool to be chosen for this.
