Democrats in Congress support Trans Day of Visibility march on National Mall
Briefly

On Transgender Day of Visibility, nearly two dozen Democrats marched in Washington, D.C., protesting against President Trump's anti-trans policies, including bans on gender-affirming healthcare and exclusion from military service. Prominent figures, such as Congresswoman Katherine Clark and several senators, participated, voicing solidarity with the transgender and non-binary community. Representative Frost criticized Trump for using trans youth as scapegoats for broader societal issues, highlighting that economic and social problems stem from systemic corruption, not from the trans community. The event served as a powerful reminder of ongoing advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights amidst rising anti-trans sentiment.
Frost said that Trump is using trans kids as a "scapegoat" for the wrongdoings that American citizens are facing in the country. "In (an) even more despicable move, he's chosen to scapegoat kids, trans kids," he explained. "The reason you can't pay your rent, you can't afford health care, the reason that you have to fear gun violence, the reason that you can't afford your grocery has nothing to do with trans people and everything to do with the billionaires and corrupt corporations that have been giving us crumbs for generations."
Democratic Senators Brian Schatz of Hawaii and Ed Markey of Massachusetts were present for the Trans Day of Visibility rally, alongside multiple representatives. Their attendance underscores the bipartisan concern for LGBTQ+ rights.
