Women in the LGBTQ+ community face significant mental health challenges, with over 20% having attempted suicide and nearly half dealing with anxiety and depression.
'The trauma burden in this community is enormous,' said Jaime Grant, highlighting the necessity of addressing the mental health needs of LGBTQ+ women.
'Historically, medical spaces have not been safe for us,' explained Savy Elahian, pointing out the barriers LGBTQ+ women face in accessing quality healthcare.
'There’s been experimentation, there’s been medical racism. It's important to understand the historical impacts, especially for LGBTQ+ people of color,' Elahian noted.
