In Harmony Music was created in 2003 to give young children a healthy, creative way to learn and grow through music. The program emphasizes early childhood as a time when children shape who they are, using music to support that development. Classes encourage family and community involvement, with teachers drawn from across the Bay Area and backgrounds in education and music. The program’s creators write and rearrange songs, producing more than 100 songs for children and families, including contemporary versions of classic material. Classes are offered in Benicia, San Anselmo, and the Richmond District, and are also brought outdoors to community parks and recreation areas to add health benefits through music, movement, play, and being together outside.
"Not only do they have class space throughout the Bay Area, in Benicia, San Anselmo and the Richmond District; they also bring their classes outdoors in community parks and recreation areas. "Music, movement, and play are so impactful, and creating as a community then being outdoors adds a whole other level of health benefits, right? Just being outside and together," said Chadly."
