Raindrop New Music is a collaborative publishing initiative founded by three Oregonian composers—Lisa Neher, Carolyn Quick, and Drew Swatosh—who are dedicated to vocal music but also produce solo and chamber works. The collective was born out of their desire to strengthen local arts, particularly in light of a demand for more accessible platforms for Oregonian composers. Currently, the trio efficiently shares tasks related to marketing and communications, while remaining open to future collaborations. Their work reflects a shift towards smaller productions, influenced by contemporary artists, thus paving a new path for music appreciation in the community.
The need for publishing collectives like Raindrop New Music is essential for showcasing and supporting Oregon's composers and their work.
Raindrop Music embodies a collaborative spirit, allowing its composers to share resources and promote their works collectively.
All three composers share a vision for the future of music, emphasizing smaller chamber productions and the importance of local artists.
