Nine Inch Nails' Future Ruins Festival Canceled
"Unfortunately Future Ruins will not move forward this year. The reality is, due to a number of logistical challenges and complications, we feel we cannot provide the experience that's defined what this event was always intended to be. Rather than compromise, we're choosing to re-think and re-evaluate."
"There's no headliner. There's no hierarchy. This is a stacked lineup of visionaries doing something you might not see again."
"to tell new stories in an interesting live setting,"
Future Ruins, a film-music festival organized by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, was canceled a month before its planned Los Angeles launch. Organizers cited "logistical challenges and complications" and said they could not provide the intended experience, opting to re-think and re-evaluate rather than compromise. Refunds will be issued automatically. The inaugural lineup had included John Carpenter, Mark Mothersbaugh, Questlove, Goblin, and Hildur Guðnadóttir for a November 8 date at L.A.'s Equestrian Center. Live Nation billed the event as the "first of its kind" conceived to allow composers to tell new stories in an interesting live setting. Nine Inch Nails recently released a new soundtrack and announced a North American tour leg.
