The album, produced by Cyrus and Shawn Everett, follows her successful 2023 album, Endless Summer Vacation, which featured the hit song "Flowers." Cyrus describes Something Beautiful as inspired by Pink Floyd's The Wall, aiming to create a more glamorous and culturally engaging version of that thematic exploration. Cyrus has said that Something Beautiful was inspired by Pink Floyd's The Wall. "My idea was making The Wall, but with a better wardrobe and more glamorous and filled with pop culture," she told Izzy Grinspan for Harper's Bazaar.
