"About 12 seconds into the opening night of Sphere with U2 back in '23, I thought 'We have to do this, it's completely uncharted territory!' This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting. We are beyond excited to share this with the world in six months time, and way fuckin' psyched to go next level!"
Metallica has officially announced "Life Burns Faster," an eight-show residency at Las Vegas' Sphere venue scheduled for October 2026. The performances occur on October 1 and 3, 15 and 17, 22 and 24, and 29 and 31. Following their M72 World Tour format, the band will implement "No Repeat Weekends," ensuring no songs are repeated between each Thursday and Saturday show. Lars Ulrich expressed enthusiasm about the venue after witnessing U2's Sphere residency, calling it "completely uncharted territory." Ticket sales begin March 6, with presales starting March 2 and March 3. A "Full House" ticket option provides access to all eight shows.
