Joyce Manor Announce Tour and New Album, Share Hilarious Video for New Song
"'Well, Whatever It Was' has got to be one of the most Southern California sounding songs ever recorded. I hear Jane's Addiction in the verses, Beach Boys / Weezer in the chorus, and RHCP in the outro. It was LITERALLY produced by the guy from Bad Religion FFS. Everyone was just firing on all cylinders for this one. Joey Warnoker's drumming, TLA's mix, and Lenny Castro's percussion all just sent it to the end-zone. This song would go insanely hard in a Shrek film."
"Also below, watch the Lance Bangs-directed, Great British Bake Off-satirizing video for lead single "Well, Whatever It Was," which presents a cooking competition called The UK Rock Bake Off starring actors and musicians in character as British rock royalty: a gloomy Robert Smith, Oasis' Noel and Liam Gallagher (who have a conspicuous taste for the icing sugar), a curmudgeonly Morrissey, master chef Kate Bush, and, naturally, Joyce Manor themselves. Watch it go down below."
Joyce Manor will release I Used to Go to This Bar on January 30, 2026, via Epitaph. The album was produced by Brett Gurewitz and follows the trio's 2022 record 40 oz. to Fresno. The lead single "Well, Whatever It Was" features a Lance Bangs-directed video that satirizes The Great British Bake Off with performers portraying British rock figures including Robert Smith, Noel and Liam Gallagher, Morrissey, Kate Bush, and Joyce Manor. Barry Johnson described the track as Southern California–sounding with influences from Jane's Addiction, Beach Boys, Weezer, and RHCP, and praised the performances and production. Joyce Manor will tour North America with support from Militarie Gun, Teen Mortgage, and Combat.
