Beirut, led by Zach Condon, has announced a new album titled A Study of Losses, influenced by Judith Schalansky's novel. This 18-track project was commissioned for an acrobatic stage performance by Swedish circus Kompani Giraff, merging orchestral pop with live art. The album includes the previously released single Caspian Tiger and a new track, Guericke's Unicorn, which is accompanied by an engaging music video featuring choreography and puppeteering. A Study of Losses is set to release on April 18 via Pompeii Records, following Condon's last album Hadsel from November 2023.
This album, inspired by Judith Schalansky's novel, will feature 18 tracks, showcasing an intertwining of music and acrobatics through its unique theatrical context.
The new single, Guericke's Unicorn, released alongside a captivating music video, highlights the collaboration with Kompani Giraff, enhancing the album's thematic depth.
