Georgina Jelley, who experienced severe allergic reactions after getting a contraceptive coil, discovered she had a rare condition called progesterone hypersensitivity, triggered by her menstrual cycle.
"It was awful, I knew I was allergic to something, but I had no idea what was causing it. My eyes were so red - it looked like I was wearing an eye mask and it affected my vision," Georgina recalled, emphasizing how her condition affected her daily life.
After undergoing extensive tests and consultations, Georgina realized that her symptoms were linked to her menstrual cycle, leading her to research and eventually identify her rare hypersensitivity condition.
"It was shocking to think I'm actually allergic to my own periods," expressed Georgina, highlighting the surprise and difficulty in finding information about her rare diagnosis.
