Bad Bunny Won Album of the Year at the 2026 Grammys
"Still, it just felt like Bad Bunny's year. One week away from his Super Bowl LX halftime show performance, and just a few hours after his excellent acceptance speech for Best Música Urbana Album-where he preached love over hate-the Spanish-language singer walked back up to the stage at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, CA to accept the biggest award of the night. It was a long time coming."
""I want to dedicate this award to all the people who had to leave their homeland or country to follow their dreams," Bad Bunny said in English. He also spoke a bit in Spanish beforehand to thank his mother, everyone who believed in him, and of course, his home. "Puerto Rico!" he shouted, "Te amo." Alongside Bad Bunny's first-ever win for Album of the Year, Debí Tirar Más Fotos also became the first Spanish-language album to take home the top prize at the Grammy Awards."
The Album of the Year field included Bad Bunny, Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter, Clipse, Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar, Leon Thomas, and Tyler, the Creator, making the race unusually close. Bad Bunny won Album of the Year for Debí Tirar Más Fotos and dedicated the award to people who left their homelands to follow their dreams. He thanked his mother, supporters, and shouted "Puerto Rico! Te amo." Debí Tirar Más Fotos became the first Spanish-language album to win the top Grammy prize. Bad Bunny previously received the first Spanish-language Album of the Year nomination for Un Verano Sin Ti and will perform at the Super Bowl LX halftime show.
