Bad Brains' H.R. Teams with New Age Doom for Collab Album, Unveils Song "Amaseganalo Pt. 2"
"The vision was to bring H.R. into a space he hasn't visited in a long time, a sphere he helped create and pioneer,"
"The album thrives at the intersection of chaotic hardcore and spacious dub. Though it was never planned as a dub record, that sound's gravitational pull affected the music, shaping it naturally."
"We didn't just want to revisit history, but to make a sound that doesn't exist anywhere else. H.R.'s voice evokes survival, chaos, and hope all at once. This album is heavier, stranger, and more alive than anything we've done. We're inspired and can't wait for people to hear it."
Bad Brains vocalist H.R. teams with Canadian experimental collective New Age Doom for the collaborative album Angels Against Angels, due March 6. The closing track "Amaseganalo, Pt. 2" is available now and showcases a genre-bending sound that combines cacophonous post-rock with elements of dub, punk, and metal. H.R. provides vocals and lyrics that reject racism, war, and injustice while calling for equality and dignity. The project aims to place H.R. in a sphere he helped pioneer and blends chaotic hardcore with spacious dub influences. The collective includes Andy Morin, Jason Lindner, Alan Cage, Alina Petrova, Greg Valou, Tim Lefebvre, and additional contributors. Pre-orders are available via Bandcamp.
