Alabama Shakes Release "Another Life," First New Single in Over a Decade
Briefly

Alabama Shakes released 'Another Life,' their first new single in over ten years, on Island Records. The track was recorded at Sound Emporium Studios in Nashville and produced by Alabama Shakes with longtime collaborator Shawn Everett. Singer Brittany Howard described the song as reflecting multiple lives, missed chances, goodbyes, and connected versions of the self, framing goodbye as 'I'll see you later.' The band announced a reunion North American tour beginning September 4 in Milwaukee and including stops in Pittsburgh, Atlanta, New Orleans, Houston and a November 15 finale in Mexico City. The reunion began with a surprise benefit concert appearance in Tuscaloosa.
"When I wrote 'Another Life,' I was thinking about all the lives we carry, the ones we're living right now, the ones that slipped away because of different choices, the what ifs, the what wasn't meant to be, the goodbyes, and the chance encounters that feel divine. This song is about those threads and how they stretch across time and space, connecting every version of who we are. It's about letting them come together, letting them harmonize, and realizing that goodbye isn't really goodbye.
