Google has expanded its OS support for Pixel 6, Pixel 7, and Pixel Fold devices from three to five years, which also includes future Android versions up to 2027.
This new update signifies that Pixel 6 users will receive not only Android 16 but also Android 17, while those with Pixel 7 and the original Fold can expect Android 18 by 2027.
Despite the positive news for newer devices, it's important to note that all Pixel models prior to the Pixel 6 are no longer receiving Android or security updates.
While the Pixel Tablet is not part of the new OS extension and remains on a three-year OS update schedule, Google's innovation in update policies has influenced other manufacturers.
