Search for missing 79-year-old San Mateo Co. woman with dementia in Portola Valley hits Day 3
Briefly

The search for Margaret Elaine McKinley, a 79-year-old woman with dementia who went missing while hiking, has intensified in Portola Valley. More than 150 volunteers, assisted by dogs and a mounted patrol, are combing the Windy Hill Open Space Preserve. Despite extensive efforts covering a 12-mile area without finding her, the search team remains hopeful. McKinley, described as an experienced hiker, was last seen on Lost Trail, wearing a red jacket and black pants. The sheriff's department urges residents to check outdoor security footage for any leads on her whereabouts.
We have more than 150 search and rescue volunteers here. The search footprint is expanding to include areas west of the preserve beyond Skyline Boulevard.
