A young driver could not explain how her car moved onto the wrong side of the road and collided with another vehicle, resulting in the death of 41-year-old Sharon Healy in March 2020. The driver, Maedbh Heaney, 25, expressed apology to the Healy family and said she thinks of them constantly. A Kerry coroner's inquest established that neither alcohol nor drugs were involved in the collision and that both vehicles were roadworthy at the time. The circumstances of how the vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic remain unexplained by the driver.
