Young cashiers at NY grocery store allegedly reject man's $2-bills believing they were counterfeit
Briefly

A man from New York, Richard Scott Steger, reported a frustrating experience at an Aldi store where cashiers refused to accept his $2 bills, claiming they were counterfeit. The young cashiers did not check the bills with standard counterfeit detection markers and exhibited a dismissive attitude toward Steger's attempts to clarify their legality. The incident was shared on social media, where Steger expressed his disappointment with the lack of professionalism and the misunderstanding surrounding the legitimate currency, which features a declaration of its validity.
Steger insisted that the young man check the bill, but was met with arrogant and aggressive ignorance. He showed me on the bills that where it says 'THIS NOTE IS LEGAL ETC'... that means they are fake.
The cashier then brought the bills to one of his young female coworkers. She asked the young man if he checked the bills with the counterfeit markers used at grocery stores.
The phrase in question is, 'THIS NOTE IS LEGAL TENDER FOR ALL DEBTS, PUBLIC AND PRIVATE,' which appears within the border on one side of the two-dollar bill.
