Call it escapism, call it nihilism, but I view my decision to return to cable as self-care. In a strange year ahead, cushioning my brain from chaos feels essential.
A decade ago, cable was criticized for offering '400 channels when you only wanted 4.' Now, streaming presents '40,000 movies and series when you really only want 40,' complicating the viewing experience.
