A woman reported being shot while walking her dog near Sampson Pond in Carver at approximately 7:37 p.m. Police found her with an apparent gunshot wound to her leg. After receiving treatment at the police station, she was taken to South Shore Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The Carver Police Department, alongside additional units, searched the area. Authorities believe the shooting is isolated with no ongoing threat to the public, urging residents to provide any relevant information.
At around 7:37 p.m., a woman entered the Carver Police Department and reported that she was shot while walking her dog along Sampson Pond.
Police officers noticed what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the woman's leg and she was treated by EMS before being transported to South Shore Hospital.
Following a preliminary investigation, police said they believe the shooting was an isolated act and that there is no threat to the public.
"We are taking this report very seriously and are devoting all necessary resources to determine exactly what happened," Reading Police Chief Marc Duphily said.
