Jurors at the Inner London Crown Court were presented with police interviews from February 2024 where a woman described being raped by Zhenhao Zou in May 2023. After several drinks, she expressed her desire to leave, but Zou allegedly prevented her from doing so, physically restraining her and urging her to drink more alcohol. The woman claimed that she sought compensation of 100,000 Chinese currency to leave, stressing that any financial agreement did not equate to consent for sexual activities. She recounted being unconscious during the alleged rape and her subsequent communications with Zou regarding her belongings.
The woman claimed that Zou raped her after not allowing her to leave his flat, despite her pleas for help and her emotional distress.
She alleged that he forced her to drink vodka and physically restrained her, asserting that any agreement for compensation did not imply consent to sex.
