Gardaí confirmed that they responded to a serious incident involving a vehicle at the entrance of a private property in Rathkeale, Co. Limerick, around 12:15pm.
Following the incident, the injured woman, a pedestrian in her 20s, was rushed to University Hospital Limerick and is currently reported to be in critical condition.
Local Fine Gael councillor Adam Teskey noted that the community is in shock, expressing sadness and offering prayers for the injured woman and her family.
