A pub in Wimbledon, The Alexandra, has been offering free dinner and wine for those alone on Christmas Day for ten years, aiming to combat loneliness.
Last year, 161 guests joined in at The Alexandra on Christmas Day, providing a space to share a three-course meal and meet new friends.
The Alexandra encourages people to come together, emphasizing their commitment: 'We mean it, DON’T. Come to us if you are alone. It's free!'
Serving from 12pm to 3pm, those who attend will be warmly welcomed to form tables of four, six, or eight, fostering conversations and connections.
