The project will leverage grants from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and NTIA, enabling Whidbey to connect remote internet exchanges and enhance service delivery across its network.
With the Ekinops360 system, Whidbey aims to deliver 600G wavelength division multiplex capacity, ensuring reliable and high-speed internet access throughout its service region.
This expansion not only supports local broadband initiatives but also positions Whidbey to grow its wholesale service business, extending backhaul services to partner providers, including those in Alaska.
