'Where is this ringing in my ears coming from?'
Briefly

Oliver Moazzezi, after suffering a sudden onset of tinnitus and hearing loss, describes his struggles with mental health and finding appropriate treatment. A growing concern, tinnitus could affect eight million people in the UK by 2025, highlighting the urgency of understanding this condition, which causes phantom sounds in the ears without external triggers. Despite the absence of a cure, treatments such as sound masking and cognitive behavioral therapy exist, while awareness remains crucial for those experiencing this debilitating condition.
Mr Moazzezi played white noise on his TV and kept turning the volume up until he could no longer hear his tinnitus. Then he used a decibel meter on his phone to measure the levels.
Tinnitus is when you hear sound in your head or ears when there is nothing externally making that sound. It can be caused by brain activity that has got out of balance.
