WhatsApp has implemented a fix for its View Once feature, addressing previous vulnerabilities that allowed users to access disappearing messages via web browser extensions.
The issue with View Once allowed messages to be accessed by web clients that didn't follow the disappearing messages protocol, leading to privacy concerns.
WhatsApp's spokesperson stated, 'We're constantly building in layers of privacy protection...continue to encourage users to send view once messages to people they know and trust.'
Zengo co-founder Tal Be'ery noted that while the latest fix is not perfect, it represents a significant improvement in protecting users' privacy.
