Weather warning now extended to six counties on Saturday
Briefly

The warning for counties Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Galway and Waterford will be in place for the entirety of Saturday, kicking in at midnight and lasting until midnight on Sunday.
Heavy and persistent rain in impacted areas will possibly bring localised flooding and difficult travelling conditions. The worst of the rain will clear on Saturday night with showers becoming confined to the north and east of the country.
The west and southwest will be mostly cloudy and rain will turn more frequent there in the evening. Highest temperatures today will be between 13 and 16 degrees.
Looking ahead to early next week, there will be some sunny spells but scattered showers will turn heavy at times with a chance of thunderstorms. Met Éireann's outlook beyond Monday is that unsettled weather will continue in the following days.
