A cold front will arrive on Wednesday, bringing cooler and drier conditions, with temperatures resuming in the mid-teens.
A plume of warm air will sink southwards from neighbouring Paraguay on Monday, lingering through Tuesday, before giving way to a cold front on Wednesday.
Maximum daytime temperatures on Monday and Tuesday will be up to 5C (41F) higher than normal in northern and central Argentina.
