Vanuatu's political landscape is marred by instability, and young voters express a strong desire for integrity and stability in leadership as the nation recovers from disaster.
"For a lot of young people, we are sick of it. We need a stable government that can effectively address climate change and disaster recovery," said Laetitia Metsan, emphasizing youth disillusionment.
Principal electoral officer Guilain Malessas noted the challenges faced during the snap elections, stating, "it’s very difficult and we don’t want to deprive anyone of the right to vote."
Resident Jeffrey Namu called for a leader with heart, stating, "...we need someone with integrity and who is going to be stable, especially after this disaster."
