US slaps sanctions on Venezuelan officials DW 11/28/2024
Briefly

"Maduro and his representatives' repressive actions in the wake of the Venezuelan presidential election are a desperate attempt to silence the voices of its citizens," said Bradley Smith, the acting under secretary of the Treasury Department.
Venezuela's opposition, along with several Western nations and international bodies, have labeled the elections as non-transparent, urging full publication of ballots to restore voter confidence.

Despite widespread criticism, Maduro continues to assert his victory in the presidential elections, refusing to provide detailed polling data to substantiate his claims.
