The aircraft was conducting a routine mission "providing intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance support at the request of our Philippine allies," the command said in a statement.
The wreckage of the airplane was found in Maguindanao del Sur province, and the bodies of the four individuals were recovered from the crash site.
Nobody was reported injured on or near the crash site, which was cordoned off by troops, but a water buffalo was killed due to the plane crash.
