On Nov. 2, citizens in Humboldt County found a body at a power plant in Blue Lake, a town with a population of around 1,200 on the Mad River, around 15 miles from Eureka.
The initial investigation indicates that this was possibly an accidental electrocution, the sheriff's department said in a statement Wednesday.
Due to the nature of the decedent's body and state of decomposition, the coroner's office is working to identify the person.
Anyone with any information that can help identify the victim is asked to call the Humboldt County Coroner's Office at 707-445-7242.
