Troubled Peter McVerry Trust is being sued by one of its major contractors

An investigation by the Charities Regulator highlighted serious governance issues within the Peter McVerry Trust. It revealed that transactions were conducted without board knowledge, including misuse of funds donated for specific purposes.

The inspectors found that while the Peter McVerry Trust expanded its property portfolio over 600, governance oversights led to financial turmoil, triggering a €15m government bailout last year.
