The strike by Republic Services waste collection workers in Massachusetts has extended into its 11th day as negotiations with Teamsters Local 25 remain unresolved. A federal mediator will facilitate discussions on Friday. Workers are striking for better wages, improved benefits, and stronger labor protections after their contract expired. Teamsters Local 25 President stated the union is prepared to extend picket lines and strike action if negotiations don’t yield a fair contract. As of Thursday, over 4,000 Teamsters are honoring picket lines across several states in a show of solidarity.
