Tourist mauled to death by shark in Red Sea - as brave stranger is injured trying to help him
Briefly

Gianluca Di Gioia, 48, was swimming approximately 150 feet past the dock when he was attacked by a shark, leading to his tragic death.
Another tourist, Guiseppe Fappani, 69, heard cries for help and attempted to save Di Gioia, but was also targeted by the shark, sustaining minor injuries.
The attack occurred outside the designated swimming area in Marsa Alam, which has since been closed for investigation by Egyptian authorities.
Incidents of shark attacks in the Red Sea are rare, with a previous fatality reported just months before involving a tiger shark in June 2023.
