Brady emphasized, "The onus of protecting a running quarterback doesn't just fall on the defense. Quarterbacks need to take better care of themselves when running."

He noted, "It's gone to a point where everyone labels a certain player as a dirty player; I don't like that one bit. We need to penalize both offenses and defenses."

Reflecting on the risk of running, Brady said, "When you run, you put yourself in danger. I don't think it's fair for the defense to shoulder all the responsibility for these hits."
