Times Square's Little Devils': Street gang subset causing mayhem in Midtown, NYPD chief says | amNewYork
Briefly

NYPD officials express deep concern over the emergence of Los Diablos de la 42, a group of about 20 gang members, some as young as 11 years old, linked to a rise in violent crime in Times Square.
As Assistant Chief of Detectives Jason Savino noted, "They started off really as a robbery crew. Over the summer, we saw them graduating from simple snatch-and-grab robberies to using knives and guns..."
The group has been connected to numerous robberies and crimes, leading police to fear a potential turf war with rival gangs, particularly the Latin Kings.
Los Diablos de la 42 have also been reported to operate out of city shelters, exploiting vulnerable children by recruiting them into their gang activities, which helps them evade police.
