Tiger Island Senior Apartments / Rome Office
Briefly

The project is the first affordable housing for seniors in Morgan City in over a decade, encouraging communal living through a centralized courtyard where residents can gather.
This multi-family building transforms traditional apartment design by breaking apart double-loaded corridors, allowing for a vibrant communal courtyard that focuses on social programming for residents.
The welcoming posture of the courtyard opening onto the main street redefines how large buildings interact with neighborhoods, reversing traditional hidden courtyard typologies in architecture.
Familiar materials and textures used in the design aim to create a sense of comfort for aging residents, while natural light floods the units to enhance their living spaces.
