Three people die on Irish roads in one week as gardai ramp up road safety for Christmas

The garda spokesperson emphasized the importance of road safety: "We urge drivers to slow down, take extra care, and give their driving full attention."

With 167 lives lost on Irish roads this year alone, the urgency for heightened awareness and stricter enforcement is becoming increasingly evident.

Recent enforcement efforts led to the seizure of 504 vehicles and numerous fines for dangerous driving behaviors, including excessive speeding and phone usage while driving.
