On Wednesday afternoon, a three-alarm fire erupted at an apartment complex in San Jose. Firefighters responded to the scene shortly after 2 p.m., encountering a blaze in a second-story unit that extended into the attic. Although reports indicated people might be trapped inside, all residents were ultimately accounted for, and no injuries were reported. However, the fire rendered nine units uninhabitable, displacing 16 adults, four children, and their pets. The Red Cross provided assistance to those affected, while the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
No one was found inside the building, but crews did rescue a cat.
The fire was threatening other units, prompting a third alarm to be called.
