"This is an election where the consequences, we think, are as serious as they have ever been," said Rep. Dan Kildee, emphasizing the heightened stakes for lawmakers.
"Concerned but not rattled," said a swing-district Democrat, highlighting internal polling indicating that Democrats are losing ground in recent weeks.
"Everybody wishes that this was a runaway wave election, but that is just not what we have. This is going to be terribly close," stated Rep. Jared Huffman.
"What’s keeping me up is just how close these races are," said Annie Kuster, pointing to the neck-and-neck competition in key districts.
