The hack comes from Instagram, courtesy of Emily (@le.cultivateur), who used a plant pot to create a custom lamp base. All you need is a lamp with a slim base and a plant pot of your choice.
The interesting thing about this pot is that while it looks like it's made of fabric from a distance, it's actually constructed from cement, making it much sturdier than it looks.
If you're looking for a more affordable option, Amazon offers a similar textured pot, though the wide mouth of the opening makes it a little harder to hide the lamp's true base.
You don't have to stick to a pot like the one featured in the video - you can use something like this gorgeous black terracotta vase from CB2, or this ceramic vase from Pottery Barn.
