The single-motor RWD Polestar 3 will be the most affordable and longest range version of the EV, starting at $68,900 and achieving an EPA-rated range of 350 miles.
The credit only applies to SUVs that cost less than $80,000, are made in North America, and include batteries and components that originate from approved trade partners of the US.
With that starting price, and its North American manufacturing bonafides, the RWD Polestar 3 should qualify for the $7,500 federal EV tax credit - at least as long as it still exists.
Polestar, backed by Volvo but now overseen by Geely, said that all versions of the Polestar 3 will come standard with Pilot Pack, including adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist.
