Despite being home to Sultan Kösen, the world's tallest person at nearly 8 feet 3 inches, Turkey does not rank among the countries with the tallest mean heights.
The mean heights measured refer to 19-year-old men and women and combining those figures gives a clearer understanding of national height averages.
The US notably did not make the list of tallest countries, with ranked heights of 5 feet 4.29 inches for women and 5 feet 9.65 inches for men.
