The film, directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, will showcase a narrative centered around magic, tyranny, and resistance in the fictional kingdom of Ilorin. Stenberg, and her co-stars including Cynthia Erivo and Viola Davis, aim to capture the story of young Zélie Adebola as she fights for her people’s magical heritage against a tyrannical king, set for release in January 2027.
