Tesco's investment in hourly wages will ensure that the average worker earns €17.61 an hour from January 2025, surpassing the upcoming national living wage.
With a commitment of €14 million, Tesco also enhances family leave, offering 26 weeks fully paid maternity leave and extended paternity and adoptive leave.
Maurice Kelly, Tesco Ireland's People Director, emphasized the importance of employees, stating this investment brings over €30 million in enhancements over two years.
In the context of changing workplace policies, Bank of Ireland now allows staff undergoing serious illness to postpone maternity leave for up to 52 weeks.
