Teri Garr, best known for her iconic roles in Young Frankenstein and Tootsie, passed away at age 79 after a long battle with multiple sclerosis.
Garr’s big break came as Inga in Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein, a comedy that featured a stellar cast including Gene Wilder and Cloris Leachman.
Born on October 29, 2004, in Lakewood, Ohio, Garr started her career as a go-go dancer and appeared in six Elvis Presley musicals.
Her performance in Tootsie earned Garr an Oscar nomination, showcasing her talent in addition to her comedic roles in the films of the 70s.
